Conor McGregor vs Tyron Woodley

by Jarryd Bedell

Recently, Conor McGregor is currently the only person in UFC history holding 2 belts at the same time. He is one of the best fighters to date,  his success comes with a can do-attitude. He may be a little too confident sometimes and he has now challenged  the Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley to a fight. He has not only challenged him but has confronted him to his face. Tyron Woodley is a really big guy and I think McGregor might have a tough road ahead of him. Tyron said “ I pack a pretty big punch, so you better pack a lunch.”

Conor McGregor  and Tyron Woodley are both 5’9” but Tyron outweighs Conor by roughly 27 pounds. They are each in their own weight division.  Conor is in lightweight and featherweight division and Tyron is in the welterweight division. I think it is going to be a good fight and if Conor wins it will be something that had never been done before. He will be the first person in UFC history to hold 3 belts at once.

Conor McGregor is from Dublin, Ireland was born July 14, 1988, making him 28 years old . He got his start at the age of 18 when he made his debut fight against Kieran Campbell. His first professional fight was  March 9th 2008. His current record is 21 wins and 3 losses. When he first started fighting he fought Marcus Brimage he beat him in the first round with a TKO “Total Knock Out”. His fighting style is mainly a striker and normally he is the aggressor in the fight. He is a southpaw fighter, boxing is his best skill and most of his victories are by way of knockout.

Tyron Woodley was born April 7th, 1982 and is from Missouri. He got his start with his first professional fight in 2009 when he fought Steve Schneider. Tyron is part of the strikeforce challengers. His first UFC fight was February 2nd  2013 against Jay Hieron. On July 30th 2016 he won the welterweight title against Robbie Lawler.

Overall I think that Conor is a tough guy but Tyron may be a tougher opponent. But if Conor can beat him it will change UFC history.
