Lisbon Boys Golf Split their Triangular Meet

By Bryce Hasselmann

On Thursday the Lisbon Varsity Golf team traveled to Gardner Golf Course in Marion for a triangular meet against South Tama and Marion. The boys shot well with a team score of 215, beating South Tama who shot a 239. The boys however did fall to Marion who shot a 175, marking their first loss of the season. Coming into this meet they had won their previous two meets, although they knew it would be tough to continue this trend against a very tough Marion team. The boys were led by Conner Miller who shot a 51, continuing his hot start to the season. Traysen Schaefer and Max Abodeely followed, each shooting a 53. Keegan Brayton also fired a 58. Lastly, Sam Hendricks and Brayton Frey finished it off with a 63 and 71 respectively.

Overall it has been a great start to the season for the boys. Despite having many practices and meets cancelled, they have still been able to have a lot of success on the course. However, they still have room to improve that way they can make a push towards the end of the season. They will have a home meet on this upcoming Monday at Kernoustie in Mount Vernon, so be sure to go out and support the team as they try to continue with the success they have had thus far.
