Wrestling

The Lisbon Wrestling team dominated districts advancing nine wrestlers to state! This was tied for the most qualifiers in the state. The boys also won in duals and will be advancing to state duels at Wells Fargo. The team is currently ranked #2 in duals behind Don Bosco, and are looking to avenge last years second place finish with a championship this year. Be sure to continue to support all the wrestlers as they prepare for state and finish off their excellent season.

Basketball

The Lisbon boys basketball team finished off their regular season with a win against Bellevue Marquette to up their win streak to six heading into the playoffs. They have really turned it around as of late, and are looking to make a run in the playoffs. They will play Alburnett at Springville on Thursday for their first round district game. Be sure to be there to support the boys as they start their journey to state! The girls season unfortunately came to an end this past season with a loss to Wilton in the first round of districts. The girls had an excellent season and all of their hard work definitely showed as they improved from last year. All of the seniors will be missed, and the girls are now looking to improve on this season in the upcoming year.

Health Tip

This week Wesly gives us a health tip which is to not only stay active, but to also have good nutrition to go along with it. After you workout you should eat good nutritious foods along with drink plenty of fluids such as water and Gatorade. Another good drink for after a workout is Nakéd pure fruit blended smoothie. Make sure to stay active and eat right!

Tech Tip

Keegan gives up a tech tip this week which is to not use your school email for any personal usage such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. This is because when you graduate your school email will be terminated, and you will lose access to any of these accounts created with your school email. So remember to only use this email for school purposes, and use a separate email for personal use.

Speech

On February 4th Lisbon’s large group speech team competed at state. Alivia Woltman was selected for all-state competition. Alivia will be performing here mime at Iowa State University on February 18th. Be sure to continue to support Alivia and all the other members of speech as they wrap up their season.

Roger’s Enterprises

Gina Montgomery interviewed Jonah Light to get an inside scoop on his business Roger’s Enterprises. It is a business created by Jonah along with other members from Lisbon where they are known as local handymen and will take on any job given to them. They pride themselves on their work, and will accept any work you need to be done.
