In Cedar Rapids, Iowa there is a theatre company called Theatre Cedar Rapids. Anyone can join and participate in a play or musical! They also offer acting classes! The theatre hosts many events so there is always something to go see when you are in the mood for some theatre. One that caught my eye that was coming up this year is Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. I am a big time lover of Disney, so of course this intrigued me! I thought I’d share a story background on Beauty and the Beast and give information on when Cedar Rapids Theatre will be showing this and more information on them in general.
Beauty and the Beast is about a young woman who falls in love with a big ‘ol beast. The young woman’s name is Belle and is very smart and beautiful. She loves to read and discover information which makes her different to the people in the town. An overly cocky man named Gaston wants to marry her, for she is beautiful. Belle’s father is a kooky inventor who is off to the fair to present his latest creation, but gets lost along the way. He stumbles over a castle where the Beast lives and is imprisoned there until Belle exchanges her freedom for his. Little does Belle know that the Beast is more than he seems along with the rest of the castle.

I have gone to the theatre a few times and have enjoyed every bit of it! The people are amazing and so talented! They always keep it interesting. They have shows going on all the time so there are many to choose from. I would definitely recommend going to someone who enjoys theatre!
