Mrs. Kibbie’s Writing for Media Class presents…
Operation Christmas Child!
With the holiday season just around the corner, please consider donating to Operation Christmas Child. Writing for Media is partnering with a local church to collect shoeboxes and items to send to children in need around the world. This drive will run until NOVEMBER 11th.
What it is: donors fill shoeboxes with small gifts and items for kids around the world who will not have holiday gifts otherwise. Boxes go all the way to Ghana, Romania, and Central Asia, and many other places.
How You Can Help: Collection boxes are located in the offices around the school and some classrooms as well (including Mrs. Kibbie’s room). Drop off your items at your convenience.
What We Are Collecting: shoeboxes, NEW toys for ages 2-14, new inexpensive, small toys like yo-yos, toy cars, light up toys, jump ropes etc. Also seeking hygiene items like toothbrushes, combs, washcloths, and new accessories and clothing, such as hair clips/bows/ties, clothing, sunglasses, jewelry, watches, flashlights. Crafts are welcome, such as hair bows, friendship bracelets, finger puppets.
Each box will include a big toy, several small toys, and some hygiene items, all selected for a child of a specific age group and gender. The boxes will be assembled by other volunteers. We’re just looking for the items.
Please don’t include liquid or gel items, as they cannot be shipped.
